Formula 1, one of the most prestigious organizations in motorsport, is making the return fans have waited years for. A Grand Launch Program

Held under the auspices of the Presidency, the event is organized in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency and the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation.

One detail stands out on the program: at a start signal given by President Erdoğan, a Formula 1 car will make a demonstration run along some of Istanbul's most iconic streets. Starting from Galataport, it will follow a route through Karaköy and Beşiktaş before finishing at Dolmabahçe.

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem will also speak at the event about the Turkish Grand Prix's return to the calendar.

The Legendary Return of Istanbul Park

The Istanbul Park circuit hosted Formula 1 races between 2005 and 2011, and again in 2020 and 2021. At 5.338 kilometres, and thanks above all to its legendary Turn 8, it ranks among the drivers' favourite tracks.

The exact race date for Istanbul Park, planned for the 2027 Formula 1 calendar, has not yet been announced, though an announcement is expected soon.

A Global Showcase

The event is expected to contribute significantly to Istanbul's tourism potential. Visitors coming to Türkiye for the race are expected to experience Topkapı Palace, the Grand Bazaar and the city's other historical and cultural landmarks.

Formula 1's global reach is striking: in the 2025 season the series reached over 827 million television viewers in more than 180 countries. That same season drew 6.7 million spectators to the grandstands, while total reach across social media platforms hit 2.3 billion.

At that scale, the Turkish Grand Prix will be a global showcase for both sport and tourism. Raising Istanbul's visibility worldwide, the event will also open significant sponsorship and communication opportunities for brands.
