What Is Experience-Led Technology?
Esra Alpaslan opened by drawing a clear line between technology and experience-led technology. "I really like using the word empathy here. Technology that can empathize — that's what experience-led technology means to us," she said. Stressing that anything reducing a user's mental load counts as an experience improvement, Alpaslan noted that this approach is now being applied far more boldly in Türkiye as well.
The Experience Shift in Financial Services
Pointing out that finance sits at the center of digital life, Alpaslan noted that users have an average of five to six finance apps on their phones. Each sub-segment — banking, investment, crypto, payment services — carries its own distinct experience requirements.
Empathy and Behavioral Intervention on Investment Platforms
In the investment world, she said, clear information and speed are essential — but empathy plays a critical role there too. "Stopping an investor who is about to act out of panic is perhaps the platform's job. And while you stop that panic move, you also have to make sure they don't miss the opportunities in front of them," she said, underlining the importance of where behavioral economics and user experience meet.
Türkiye's Finance Sector: A Leader in Experience
"In Türkiye, finance is one of the best sectors when it comes to experience," Alpaslan said, noting that investment in experience-led technology is rising in the local market and the sector is closing in on global standards.
